To be a nurse is something I cherish everyday. When I walk through the hospital doors, in my eyes, my patients are my family. My mentality is always “how would I want my family to be treated”, that is what gets me through. When I met Stoney, I knew he was someone special. Not once during his entire journey did I see him with a negative mentality. Stoney always fought, & he fought hard. I always got so excited to take care of him, because he and BJ always made my day. To be in Stoney’s situation and have such an impact on people says a lot about him. He never complained, his faith was so strong, he was always such a light and I will always remember that and take that with me every single day. It was such an honor to say that I was involved in caring for Stoney and I thank God for allowing me to cross paths with him.
